My art career was launched at around age 9 when my parents enthusiastically showed off one of my drawings of our Siamese cats. In a household of many pets, they were often featured in my illustrations.
In 1979 I graduated from UNH with a BFA and then landed my first “art” job at Rustcraft as a greeting card designer. This lead to a career in the Stationery and Gift Industries.
After 11 years of working as an art director at The Gift Wrap Company, I launched my full time freelance career in 2002. The experience of working as an art director was invaluable and gave me a better understanding of the market and how to present my designs. I love designing full time and the freedom it gives me.
I have been working with a variety of companies over the past 13 years, from stationery to gift and home. I have over 2000 designs in my design library.
Expanding into the fabric and quilting markets has been a natural transition with my knowledge of repeats and love of pattern play and color.
I love the element of surprise in design and especially enjoy making people smile with my whimsical animals and characters.
